Glendora, CA - OASIS Medical announces the introduction of Visco Shield® Topical, a sterile, viscoelastic irrigating device to be used on the exterior cornea to prevent drying of the epithelial layer during ophthalmic surgical procedures.

Visco Shield® Topical is applied onto the anterior surface of the cornea where it forms a protective layer. Its unique formula is designed to provide a controlled evaporation rate allowing it to remain on the cornea for up to 20 minutes eliminating the need for repeated irrigation. Its properties allow it to adhere to the cornea and form a thin optically neutral clear film without changing the anterior curvature.

Visco Shield® Topical (REF# 5200) is supplied sterile in a 1.5ml syringe complete with a 23g x 7/8” thin wall cannula for easy application, 6 syringes per box. It’s preservative-free and stores at room temperature.
